All of the Optimus sound level meters can support a small, battery powered portable printer which can be used to print out the noise levels immediately after a measurement has been made.
For the measurement of noise in line with noise ordinances, we would recommend an Optimus sound level meter. All of the Optimus instruments have the same clear, high resolution color display which can read easily in low light conditions, a feature which can be essential when making noise measurements at night.
Ease of use is essential for these applications and with the Optimus, there are just three button pushes needed to make a measurement.
Press Calibrate to calibrate the sound level meter, press Start to begin a measurement and press Stop to end. There’s nothing else to do as the Optimus sound level meters will measure every available function at the same time. There’s no need to set time or frequency weightings or to select a measurement range as this is all done automatically.
This can be a huge time saver as there’s no need to adjust or change any settings in the instrument, making the Optimus ideal for anyone who is not used to using a sound level meter.
For simple measurements, the Optimus Yellow instruments would be suitable and will provide, for example, the following measurements:
- Measurement time & date
- LASmax (Maximum Sound Level)
- LASmin (Minimum Sound Level)
More more in-depth measurements, the Optimus Green sound level meters are ideal. All of the functions of the Optimus Yellow are provided and the instruments can provide frequency analysis in 1:3 octave bands as well audio recording and more detailed data logging.
